Energy healing is becoming increasingly recognized as a powerful complement to traditional wellness practices. Yet for many, it can still feel mysterious or intangible. Whether you’ve heard about Reiki, quantum healing, or simply felt “drawn” to this kind of work, this FAQ will help you understand what it’s all about and what you can expect in an intuitive healing session with me.

What is energy healing?
Energy healing is a holistic practice that works with the body’s subtle energy systems to restore flow, balance, and coherence. Every being has a unique energetic blueprint and when that energy becomes stagnant or blocked (due to stress, trauma, or emotional overwhelm), it can manifest as physical tension, emotional heaviness, or mental fog.
An energy healing session helps clear and rebalance these energetic pathways so the body’s natural healing intelligence can do what it’s designed to do: return to harmony.
What is Reiki, and how is it different from other forms of energy healing?
Reiki (pronounced ray-kee) is a specific lineage of energy healing that originated in Japan. It translates to “universal life energy” and involves channeling this energy through the hands to the recipient. While Reiki follows a particular system of symbols and attunements passed down from teacher to student, other forms of energy healing (such as quantum healing, somatic energy work, or intuitive energy therapy) may blend multiple modalities. The essence, however, remains the same: helping your energy return to flow, coherence, and alignment.
What happens during a session?
Every practitioner’s style is unique, but generally, you’ll either lie down (fully clothed) or sit comfortably while the practitioner channels healing energy through their hands. In my in-person sessions, I prefer to do hands-on healing (with client consent of course) while the person is laying down.
Some people feel warmth, tingling, or gentle waves of energy moving through their body. Others experience deep relaxation, emotional release, or vivid imagery. And some simply feel peaceful stillness, all are equally valid experiences.
Sessions may include intuitive insights, chakra balancing, sound, breath, or light touch depending on the practitioner’s training. Although traditional reiki is a meditative state, I personally process out loud what I'm picking up with the energy in real-time. There is intuitive insights, insights from the physical body, and guidance from the client's ancestors and/or spiritual team throughout as the energy is flowing. This helps with the integration and processing afterwards I find because there is a deeper understanding as to why memories and emotions come up following the session.
How can I prepare for a session?
Preparing for an energy healing session helps you receive the work more fully and intentionally. Here are a few simple steps:
Set an intention. Reflect on what you’d like to receive or release — whether it’s clarity, peace, grounding, or simply openness to healing.
Hydrate well. Energy moves more freely in a well-hydrated body.
Avoid stimulants. Try to limit caffeine, alcohol, or recreational drug use beforehand, so your system can be more receptive.
Create space afterward. If possible, keep your schedule light so you can rest or integrate after the session.
Trust the process. You don’t need to “do” anything during a session — simply breathe, relax, and allow the energy to flow where it’s needed.

How often should I receive energy healing?
How often you receive energy healing depends on your personal goals, current state, and energetic needs.
For general maintenance or stress relief: Once a month (aligned with the moon cycle or seasonal shifts) helps keep your energy field clear and balanced.
For deeper emotional or energetic work: Weekly or bi-weekly sessions can help you move through layers more consistently and integrate new frequencies.
For acute healing or transitions: Shorter, more frequent sessions (such as every few days) may be supportive when navigating loss, illness, emotional upheaval, or spiritual awakening.
Over time, your intuition will guide you. Many clients notice they begin to feel when their energy needs a reset, just as the body craves rest or nourishment. Is energy healing safe?
Yes. Energy healing is gentle, non-invasive, and works alongside any other wellness or medical treatments you may be receiving. It does not interfere with medication or conventional care and can actually enhance recovery and emotional well-being.
What might I feel after a session?
After a session, it’s common to feel relaxed, peaceful, and more connected. Sometimes, subtle “detox” symptoms can also arise as your physical body and energy field release old patterns or stagnant energy.
Common post-session experiences include:
Feeling sleepy or needing extra rest
Temporary fatigue or emotional sensitivity
Tingling sensations or temperature changes in the body
Vivid dreams or emotional release
Increased thirst or frequent urination (as energy clears through the system)

Can energy healing be done virtually?
Absolutely! In fact, my distance session offering can be found here and I conduct mine through video chat via Google Meet. Because energy is not bound by time or space, distant sessions are just as powerful as in-person ones. Many clients even prefer remote healing, as they can receive the session from the comfort of their own home.
How will I know it’s “working”?
